FAQ
What is an Enrolled Agent (EA)?
Enrolled Agents (EAs) are federally authorized tax practitioners who specialize in taxation and have unlimited practice rights to represent taxpayers before the IRS. EAs have earned the privilege of representing taxpayers before the IRS by passing a three-part examination covering individual and business tax returns. Every three years, EAs must complete 72 hours of continuing education to maintain their status which is the highest credential the IRS awards and adhere to ethical standards. Like CPA’s and attorneys, Enrolled Agents have unlimited practice rights and are unrestricted on the taxpayers they represent and what tax matters they can handle.
